Rafting Trip 2010

Campus Life had the awesome opportunity to brave the white water rapids and mountain sides of Wisconsin as we rafted and rock-climbed for three days. As 24 students and leaders camped in the woods, it was great to get away from the constant distractions of Downers Grove and experience nature in its finest.

Summer is Here!

Summer is here! And Campus Life has got stuff going on every Monday night to take advantage of the good weather! So far we’ve had our very own Amazing Race throughout downtown Downers Grove, a party at Hummer Park (Check out the pics below!) and some sweet beach volleyball action @ Westwood park last Monday!

High On Life

We finished up the semester by talking about what makes us happy. But the weird thing about happiness is that its pretty elusive. Its here one moment and then gone the next. A good, happy day can suddenly turn sour if things begin to go wrong.

STRIVE 2010

Saturday, May 8th marked the 7th annual STRIVE workday. This year 55 students, 9 alumni, and 26 crew chiefs hit the streets to impact the lives of many people in our community. The work ranged from senior citizens homes through DuPage Senior Council, to Fairview Baptist Village, to single moms in our community. All told, 97 people participated as the students have raised over $28,000 so far.

First Annual Strive 5K

The first annual STRIVE 5k was a great success! Over 125 runners, 50 volunteers, and many amazing fans made this an amazing event! The race course was hilly, but it wasn't a challenge for Dan Stanton who had just completed the Boston Marathon. Dan won the race with a time of 18:25. Coming in first for the women was Sanya Syrstad with a time of 19:57.

Fear Factor

You guys conquered your fears as you drank unspeakable mixtures, fed people with your feet and moved worms with your mouth. Surprisingly, the Freshmen, in the end, came out on top as this year's Fear Factor champions. Good job to all those who represented their classes in the various challenges. Make sure to check out the pics from that night!
