STRIVE 2009

Saturday May 9th marked the 6th STRIVE event for Downers Grove Campus Life and it was an amazing day of serving our community. Over 80 students, volunteers, and CL alumni all worked together to perform much-needed work in our community. The results were simply amazing!:

25 Senior Homes cleaned/repaired
2 Single mom's homes reparied
Senior Home sharing home landscaped

Recap of the 2009 STRIVE workday. Over 70 high school students blanketed the Downers Grove, Darien and Westmont area as they donated a full day of labor to serve their community. Projects included:

My Manna Bag Experience

I was in the city, heading to my train when I saw a man standing next to the street begging for money so he could find some place to stay. I stopped, pulled out my manna bag and said here ya go. He said "this is for me?" As I was waiting to cross the street I heard him say, " these are my favorite granola bars!"
